RN
LPN
NCSBN’s NJ implementation notice specifically covers NJ RN and LPN licenses. The generic compact practical/vocational wording is not presented as New Jersey’s own license title.
The NLC allows registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical/vocational nurses (LPN/VNs), whose primary state of residence is in an NLC state , to hold one multistate license, with the authority to practice in person or via telehealth, in both their home state and other NLC states.

The act states immediate effectiveness. effective_date remains null because the date is presented separately on the law cover; do not compute it from separate text in this record.

Historical implementation is directly supported. NLC Commission map separately shows NJ as implemented (map revision 2023); direct NJ Board current-status page was blocked, so continued 2026 status should be reconfirmed.
This quotation supports recognition of a valid home-state multistate license. The act separately requires remote-state practice-law compliance and allows individual restrictions. Fingerprints are an issuance/endorsement condition, not a new background-check application imposed on every remote privilege holder.

The current Commission home-page rule is directly captured. Home-state/PSOR definitions and NJ-resident issuance are also in the statute/NCSBN sources.
Nurses moving from one compact state to another must apply for licensure in their new primary state of residence within 60 days.
nursecompact.com · NCSBN
A home-state relocation creates an application requirement. This is separate from a temporary assignment with unchanged primary residence. The current Commission guidance states the 60-day application rule.
c. If a nurse changes primary state of residence by moving 37 between two party states, the nurse must apply for licensure in the new 38 home state, and the multistate license issued by the prior home state 39 will be deactivated in accordance with applicable rules adopted by the 40 Commission. 41 1. The nurse may apply for licensure in advance of a change in 42 primary state of residence. 43 2. A multistate license shall not be issued by the new home state 44 until the nurse provides satisfactory evidence of a change in primary 45 state of residence to the new home state and satisfies all applicable 46 requirements to obtain a multistate license from the new home state. 47

The NLC Commission’s linked 2018 guide (https://www.nursecompact.com/files/nursysquickconfirm.pdf) describes the report’s RN/PN practice-state check.
