How the licensing facts are built
Licensing records include the official source, supporting quotation and check date. Information that cannot be confirmed is labelled Unverified. Expand “Verification details” or “Evidence details” to see the reason and available evidence.
Records distinguish unavailable sources, incomplete information, conflicting requirements and items that have not been researched. Historical values retain their original dates.
Source audit, 5 Oct 2026
On 5 Oct 2026 an automated re-check ran over the EMS corpus: 1017 cited claims across 51 jurisdictions. 931 matched; 40 in 15 jurisdictions could not be confirmed and are marked Unverified on the affected pages: 33 quotes not found on the live page, 6 sources unreachable, 1 unreadable. Nursing records have a separate audit below.
Verification methodology
Each cited source page is re-fetched and each recorded quote re-matched against the live page. This checks that the citation still supports the claim — it is not a substantive re-validation of the fact itself. A failed re-check is pending human review: it is not a finding that the recorded fact is false, and records keep the check dates shown on their pages until a human confirms them.
An Unverified label means the citation could not be confirmed (changed page, unreachable or unreadable source, missing quote, unanswered field, or past-due re-check date) — not that the value is wrong. Confirm current requirements with the state office before relying on these historic records.

What is researched — and what is not
- EMS and paramedic: all 51 jurisdictions are covered on the homepage grid, with per-state depth varying by record. The EMS Compact table keeps enacted, in force, and verifiable as separate facts.
- Nursing (RN): 4 state records: California, Florida, North Carolina, Texas. Depth and unresolved questions vary by record. Other jurisdictions have no detailed nursing record yet; the NLC comparison table marks them as not researched.
Coverage only moves in one direction: a jurisdiction appears as researched when its facts are sourced and dated, never before.
What the pay tools assume
The calculator compares offers from the numbers you enter, using the assumptions stated on that page. Its results are estimates for comparison — not individualized tax advice and not a prediction of your take-home pay. Tax treatment depends on your own situation; anything that looks like a tax question may require advice specific to your circumstances.
The offer checklist is a prompt list. A checked box records only that you confirmed the item yourself; the site verifies nothing on your behalf.
Jobs and applications
Every public job listing must include an employer or agency published pay rate or range and its pay period. We keep hourly wages, daily rates and weekly packages in their original units. Bonuses and expense reimbursements alone do not qualify a listing.
The job board links out to employers. Applications are handled entirely on the employers' own sites, under their own terms and privacy policies. This site takes no application and sees nothing you submit to them.
How this site pays for itself
The licensing facts and salary tools are free and public, with no account and no paywall. That is the point of the project, and it is not changing.
There are currently no sponsors, advertisers, or affiliate partners, and no payments change hands anywhere on this site. If that ever changes, the rules are:
- any sponsored placement or affiliate link is clearly labelled as such;
- paid relationships stay independent from the evidence — they never change a licensing fact, a ranking, or what the tools recommend.
Privacy, briefly
How this site handles your information
These are static pages with no accounts. The offer checklist keeps your answers in the current page. Calculator and planner inputs are processed in your browser and are not submitted to us. Career-pathway certificate expiry dates are saved on this device and remain after the tab closes. Clear an expiry field to remove that saved date, or clear this site's browser storage to remove all saved dates. Other pathway selections reset when the page reloads.
The site has no advertising trackers or account system. Hosting providers may process request information, such as your IP address, to deliver the pages. Employer and training-provider links open services with their own privacy policies. Information sent by email is available to the recipient.
