Sources and what these figures include
HUD Fair Market Rents estimate the 40th percentile of gross rents for standard-quality homes. They are annual housing-program benchmarks, not average asking rents, available properties or furnished travel-housing quotes. Gross rent accounts for rent and utilities.
Geography follows HUD’s county and town definitions. Several locations can share a metro benchmark. The lookup preserves each published location; it does not substitute a nearby city.
FY2027 schedule: 2026-10-01 to 2027-09-30. Source checked 2026-10-04. These published figures can be revised; this lookup does not establish eligibility or a local program’s payment standard.
Assumptions, in plain terms
- Base hourly here means straight-time wages only: rate × paid hours. A gross package quote bundles allowances and per diem on top of base pay — the two are different numbers and this workbench never mixes them.
- No overtime is assumed and no overtime rate is computed. No tax is withheld or estimated: the remainder is before tax, not take-home pay.
- Relocation fuel is charged exactly once each way: one-way miles × 2, divided by mpg, times your fuel price, spread evenly across contract weeks. It is never charged twice.
- Housing, living costs, miles, mpg, fuel price, hours, and weeks are your estimates. You can choose a dated EIA fuel reference. Housing prices and route distances are not fetched automatically.
